Ancestors' Map

Ancestors' Map

Where the ancestors on the Brown and Keymer and Morrissey trees were born, married, lived and were buried in Britain and Ireland. One pin per place; tap a pin or a place to see who was there. New Zealand places are left off. Built from both tree pages as they stood on 2 Nov 2026.

How to read it

Each pin is coloured by the line it belongs to; a pin shared by two lines is split. The number on a card is how many entries fall there. Grades are copied from the tree pages: Verified, Strong match, Probable, and Family story for Dover, which the family and the 1934 obituary give as John Morrissey senior's birthplace but which no birth index supports. A person appears at every place tied to them, so the same name can show up several times.

Where the pins sit

Pins mark the village or town centre (or the parish church), not a house. County Kilkenny and County Fermanagh sit in the middle of the county because the records name no town. Ireland is included because these ancestors lived there while it was part of the United Kingdom; Co. Tyrone and Co. Fermanagh are still in it.

The tree pages

Full records and sources for every person are on the Brown and Keymer Family Tree and the Morrissey Family Tree.
